Registrations open: 2019 VHA Annual Conference
July 11, 2019
There is little dispute that the way our system is organised to deliver care must change. Funding is disjointed and systems are fragmented; primary care is treated separately from hospital care, and inputs are equated as outputs.
As a nation, we are growing, living longer and we spend the highest average years in ill health of any OECD country. Our system is costly but there is only a finite bucket of money; little of which is spent on keeping people healthy and well. In health planning, the social context isn’t always considered, nor is the longer term and good data is not available to be drawn upon. We must change to ensure we are sustainable, effective and viable for the decades and the change to come. That’s easier said than done.
The VHA’s 2019 annual conference will bring together thought-leaders, innovators, key decision makers and voices of the future to help us reimagine, share ideas and drive rich conversation on making the change that is needed to ensure we can sustain cutting-edge and high-quality healthcare into the future.
The 2019 VHA Annual Conference will be on 3 and 4 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
