Giant Steps 2022: call for abstracts
September 2, 2021
Public health services and community health services – would you like to share your success stories?
The organisers of the Giant Steps 2022 healthcare quality and safety improvement conference are calling on abstract submissions of stories that will engage, inspire, and drive positive change in healthcare.
The conference program will feature sessions that capture the current challenges and solutions in quality improvement and patient safety, across four themes:
- Health – big challenges, bigger improvements
- Leaps and bounds – taking giant steps forward in a changing world
- Wellbeing for all –You, me, our community
- The future of health – the opportunity to think differently.
This event presents a fantastic opportunity to showcase the many examples of improvements and innovations VHA members have undertaken over the past 12 months to a broader audience.
Throughout the state, the establishment of pop-up COVID-19 testing clinics in outbreak hot spots has been a feature of the health service response to the pandemic. Health services have also collaborated with local services to provide Victorians with coronavirus access to in-home health and welfare checks and information about social and financial supports through the COVID-19 Positive Pathways Program.
Innovation, agility, clinical expertise and strong community connections have been key elements of the successful community health response to COVID-19 in Victoria.
Community health services have lead engagement with our most vulnerable community members during the COVID-19 pandemic, delivering outreach and social care to people living in settings with associated with an increased risk of COVID-19 transmission and launching pop-up clinics to vaccinate people experiencing homeless and disadvantage.
These are just some of the collaborative and innovative efforts of VHA members that could be shared at Giant Steps 2022.
Submissions close COB Thursday 23 September 2021.
Services which submit abstracts will be informed about the acceptance of their submission by Monday 18 October 2021. If not successful, you will have the opportunity to submit a poster abstract.
