Governance role of the board

We all know not-for-profit boards are responsible for the overall governance of the organisation. What does this mean in reality? What are the primary responsibilities and accountabilities of a board? How do board directors ensure they are fulfilling their fiduciary duties? How does the board keep a strategic focus whilst maintaining its important assurance role?

This session will explore the key functions of NFP boards with a focus on the role of a board in the health and community setting. Attendees will gain clarity around the expectations associated with being a director on a NFP board and learn about the important role the board plays in securing the future of the organisation.
