Demystifying financial statements - professional development

The VHA invites new board members, or board members without a finance background, to a finance fundamentals professional development course. This session is designed to help demystify financial statements and assist board members in understanding key financial terms and concepts.

The session will cover the different types of financial statements and shine a light on what board members should focus on.

Drawing on her many years of experience, presenter Liz May, Director, Finance, Grant Thornton will share insights into what experienced board members look for and how they seek to understand the various financial drivers specific to their organisation. Liz will share some of the indicators of financial failure, and the early warning signs to look out for. With early identification key to success, the session will focus on financial viability in a challenging environment.
