Victorian Government launches plan for skills and training reform

August 23, 2022

On Monday the inaugural Victorian Skills Plan was launched by the Minister for Training and Skills, Gayle Tierney.

The plan provides the basis for reform in the approach to skills and training across Victoria, identifying 11 key areas of focus.

As part of the plan, there will also be 13 stand-alone industry reports produced, including one on health and community services. These reports will provide insights on the key challenges and guide the future work of the Victorian Skills Authority, government, and key sector stakeholders.

The Skills Plan shows that of the new workers required across Victoria, 65,000 workers will be needed in health and community services.

The VHA attended the launch, having contributed to the development of the plan and community and health services industry report through its representative position on the Community Services & Health Industry Advisory Group.
