VHA Board appoints Interim CEO
August 18, 2022
The VHA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Williamson as Interim CEO of the Victorian Healthcare Association (VHA).
Nick is an experienced healthcare executive, most recently working in primary health with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), and prior to that advising health and aged care focused clients in a legal capacity. Nick brings 20 years of combined experience in leadership, advocacy, strategy, stakeholder engagement, operations, governance and corporate services.
He is passionate about appropriate delivery of health care, and is delighted to be offered the opportunity to join the VHA and support the development of Victoria’s health system.
Nick will commence on Monday 22 August, supported by current CEO, Tom Symondson, for a brief handover period until Tom’s last day on Friday 2 September.
The VHA Board and staff would again like to thank Tom for the commitment, knowledge, and passion he has given to the VHA over the past 10 years, and wish him the very best of luck in his new position.
To support with the leadership transition, General Manager Policy and Advocacy, Juan Paolo Legaspi, has been appointed as the Deputy CEO for an interim period. Juan Paolo’s continued leadership will assist Nick in maintaining a stable and effective organisation while the recruitment of a permanent CEO is underway.
With these appointments, the Board is very confident that the VHA will continue its current momentum and deliver great value for members, particularly in the lead-up to the state election.
