VHA Annual Conference: Program released
July 26, 2018
The Victorian Healthcare Association has released the program for the 2018 Annual Conference, to be held 16 and 17 August, bringing together leaders from the public healthcare sector.
‘We’re thrilled to be bringing a line-up of expert speakers and political leaders of the four major parties ahead of the Victorian state election,’ Tom Symondson, Chief Executive Officer of the VHA announced today.
‘The conference will give healthcare leaders the opportunity to explore the key issues within the sector and discuss strengthening our health system.’
Rethink, reset, reimagine: working towards a stronger Victorian health system is a two-day conference that will explore the pressures on the health system from demand to constraints and fragmented funding, through a range of sessions, panel discussions, and keynote presentations.
Day two of the conference will include a panel discussion featuring digital health leaders Glyn Teale, Chief Information Officer at Western Health, Dr Richard Ashby, Chief Executive and Information Officer at eHealth Queensland, and Jackie McLeod, Executive Director of the EMR Project at the Parkville Precinct.
Moderated by Richard Royle, Partner at PwC, the panel will draw on Victorian and Queensland digital health examples, and explore the biggest pressures on implementing digital health projects, from funding to community expectations and explain how to advocate for change against a backdrop of mounting pressures within the health system.
The conference program will also include a networking event on the first evening and a digital health breakfast at the start of the second day.
VHA voting members receive a complimentary conference ticket by using the code RETHINK18 at registration. They can also access a two for one offer for additional registrants when purchasing a ticket.
