Testing milestone for Banyule Community Health with 50,000 COVID-19 tests

May 5, 2021

Established in July 2020 at the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria, the Banyule Community Health Greensborough Drive-Thru Testing site was stood up to meet the demand for testing in the north of Melbourne.

Banyule Community Health has worked closely with the Department of Health, Nillumbik Shire Council and Banyule Council on administering 50,000 COVID-19 tests since commencing in July 2020 (41 weeks straight).

Together with an engaged local community, this outstanding achievement was reached in April by its dedicated and highly skilled team on the ground at the Greensborough site.

Banyule Community Health CEO, Mick Geary commented, “I’m incredibly proud of the work that this team has done since July 2020. On a daily basis I hear of the safe, professional and friendly manner of their work.”

Operating 7 days a week, in rain hail or shine (sometimes all within one day), the team from Banyule Community Health has become a source of comfort for the local community.

“Our local community have supported us as we have developed improvements along the journey and staff have embraced the crucial role they place in keeping the community safe”
