Meet the team – Rashmi Chaudhari

April 20, 2022

Rashmi Chaudhari is Senior Accounts Officer at the VHA. Building on a wealth of experience in the accounting and banking sectors, Rashmi is excited to be contributing to the VHA’s work in the public healthcare sector and to supporting our members’ needs.

Where has your career taken you and what brought you to the VHA?

I’m originally from India and followed my husband’s path to migrate Australia which turned out to be a dream come true for us. I completed five years of Bachelor degree in Commerce/Accounting, and have held traditional finance roles earlier in my career. For instance, I joined TATA Consultancy Service (TCS) as System Analyst in the General Ledger department where I extensively worked on analysis of financial reporting and all facets of corporate accounting, performing analysis of financial statements and general ledgers of India’s rural and regional banks.

After moving to Melbourne, I struggled to find the perfect job for about six months, but thankfully the wait was over when I got a call from VHA. I was overwhelmed with excitement when offered the role and I have now spent four years working for the VHA – I will be always grateful to the organisation for giving me this opportunity. The VHA as helped me to understand how not-for-profit organisations work, as well as department funding models and the importance of advocacy and equality in healthcare.

What are some things you’re working on at the moment and what most excites you about these projects?

I am currently focused on our interim audit and quarterly reconciliation for the current financial year which is my core area of expertise. Last year I took over payroll processing which is another area of interest, and two other key functions for the organisation I look after are accounts payable and receivable.
