Mandatory vaccinations: webinar for health organisations

September 8, 2021

On 7 September, VHA partner Russell Kennedy Lawyers hosted a webinar which focused on providing guidance regarding whether, and under what circumstances, health organisations might consider mandating that employees, contractors and customers are vaccinated for COVID-19, as a means to reduce the risk of being overwhelmed by outbreaks.

The webinar was aimed at the health, disability, community and care sector; including CEOs, board members, executive/general managers, procurement managers, allied health managers from health organisations (including community health), NDIS providers and others who provide care to the vulnerable in our community.

Russell Kennedy principals Anthony Massaro and Jonathan Teh covered topics including:

  • the rapidly evolving state of play regarding an organisation’s legal rights to mandate vaccines
  • employment, discrimination and occupational health and safety considerations of mandating vaccines
  • contracting, clinical governance and corporate governance considerations for mandating vaccines.
