Health policy professor to lead discussion at Governance Conference

Dr Marie Bismark, Professor at the Centre for Health Policy, University of Melbourne is the keynote speaker for the 2018 VHA and ACHG Governance Conference.
Dr Bismark is a medical practitioner and health law academic, and heads the Law and Public Health Unit at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on the role of clinical governance and patient voice in improving the quality and safety of healthcare.
Marie has previously worked as a doctor in several hospitals, served as a legal adviser to the Health and Disability Commissioner, been a solicitor with a leading law firm, and completed a Harkness Fellowship at Harvard University.
She is an experienced company director and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Her current governance roles include serving as a director of Summerset aged care and GMHBA health insurance.
Dr Bismark’s topic for the forum is Leadership for evidence-based change.
The Victorian Healthcare Association and the Australian Centre for Healthcare Governance present Leading the Change, a forum to assist VHA members and the health sector with governance responsibilities.
