First State Super launches new scholarship for emerging leaders

August 19, 2020

Emerging leaders in the health sector can apply for a new scholarship, worth $25,000, from VHA partner First State Super; named in honour of former First State Super CEO Michael Dwyer.

The Aware Super Michael Dwyer Scholarship for Emerging Leaders will provide a grant to a member of First State Super to support their leadership development, professional education or ongoing vocational training.

First State Super, which will become Aware Super in September, designed the annual scholarship to reflect the leadership and member first qualities Michael imbued as the fund’s CEO from 2004 to 2018.

Scholarship applications close on 25 October with more information available here.

First State Super’s name will change next month to Aware Super, reflecting their members and what they stand for. The name change follows the recent completion of the merger with VicSuper and the acquisition of Stateplus.

Having one unified brand strengthens the message, impact and purpose for the members and communities they proudly serve.
