VHA Aged Care Royal Commission consultative group

Posted 13 December 2018

In response to the establishment of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, the VHA has formed a consultative group of interested members to inform the development of its submission to the Royal Commission.

The VHA received an overwhelmingly positive response to its expression of interest process for the consultative group and is pleased to have a representative mix of its members to support the development of a holistic submission.

Membership of the consultative group comprises of representatives from a cross-section of the public health system including community health services, small rural health services, regional health services, and metropolitan hospitals. Consultative group members bring a range of expertise and knowledge that spans the health spectrum, from primary care through to community-based aged care and residential aged care.

The VHA will be running consultative workshops across Victoria in early February 2019 to canvass the views of its broader membership, and encourages members to get involved in this process. More information on these workshops will be provided in early 2019.

For more information on the VHA’s response to the Royal Commission and planned activities, contact Ali Georgalas, Advisor, Policy and Advocacy by email or call 9094 7715.
