Study Tour: Canadian hospitals & community health featured

This year’s VHA USA and Canada Study Tour will visit major Canadian sites St Michael’s Hospital and South Riverdale Community Health Centre.

‘Participants will have the opportunity to experience and learn from a diverse range of facilities with unique concerns and areas of focus and of which these two facilities are prime examples,’ said Tom Symondson, VHA Chief Executive, who will be leading the two-week tour.

Located in Toronto, St Michael's Hospital is a teaching and research hospital, renowned for providing exceptional patient care. Also located in Toronto, South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a is a community-based organization offering primary health care services and health promotion programs to a diverse community.

The tour will provide opportunities for learning that can be applied within a Victorian context and how its current and future needs can be supported.

Registrations are being taken for the two-week tour, departing Melbourne 28 September and returning 13 October.

The tour is open to VHA members and non-members from the health care sector (surcharge applies).

Prices: Economy $15,000 or business class: $22,500. Inclusions: Flights, accommodation and ground transfers in US and Canada.
