REGISTER NOW: Disability action plan workshops

Posted 18 October 2018

The VHA is working on a project to support the development of disability/accessibility action plans in health services. As part of this project, the VHA will develop a disability action plan interactive e-learning module to guide health services in developing plans.

To help inform the development of the e-learning module, the VHA has scheduled two regionally based workshops in Bendigo and Warrnambool. The objectives of these workshops are:

  • to better understand the barriers and gaps in accessing health care and health care employment for people with a disability
  • to understand the concerns, issues and  barriers to developing and implementing disability action plans for service providers
  • to provide information, resources and examples of disability/accessibility action plans.

VHA members are encouraged to send team leaders, managers or most appropriate staff members to the workshop and provide their input. Service users are strongly encouraged to attend to provide valuable input into the development of this module.

Workshops:

Bendigo | 15 November, 1–3pm
Venue: Bendigo Community Health Services
165-171 Hargreaves St

Warrnambool | 21 November, 1- 3pm
Venue: South West TAFE
