ACHG to develop fraud, corruption and integrity risks tool

Posted 07 June 2018

The Australian Centre for Healthcare Governance will lead a Department of Health and Human Services sponsored project to develop an evidence-based integrity capability assessment tool for health services and enable them to better mitigate fraud, corruption and integrity risks.

The assessment tool is being developed to enable health services to identify priority areas to be addressed and develop an action plan, which includes short, medium and long term actions to mitigate risks.

“As part of the process, we will be consulting with health services to ensure the capability assessment is relevant, credible and adaptable for health services of all sizes,” said ACHG Executive Director, Jo-Anne Moorfoot.

“We’ll incorporate consultation forms with health service CEOs and executives both rural, regional and metropolitan, a short electronic survey to key organisation personnel and interviews with key department stakeholders to map out the current status of probity and consider future reporting requirements.”

Leading the project with Ms. Moorfoot is Jane Brockington, ACHG Associate Specialist Consultant. Both are experienced governance professionals with extensive careers in the health and government sector and a solid backgrounds in corporate governance and risk management.
